Background

​​​​​​​​​​​​Giorgos Charalambous is a political scientist and holds a PhD in Politics from the University of Manchester. His research interests lie in the domain of comparative european politics and more specifically, the areas of: 
- political parties (ideology, organization, radical left) and political behaviour 
- domestic politics of European integration (Europeanization, Euroscepticism, European elections) 
- south European politics (parties, elections, institutions). He is also Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Cyprus and currently​ serves as President of the Cyprus Political Science Association (KYSYPE). 
His ongoing research focuses on the impact of the crisis on political behaviour, protest and social movements and political trust, youth attitudes towards aspects of the Cyprus conflict and populism/extremism.
