Research Interests

Her research interests include the analysis of micro-level dynamics of violence in conflict, in particular civil war, as well as questions pertaining to the measurement of violent incidences in general. Her dissertation explores the relationship between violence and civilian support in civil war, using agent-based modeling techniques and three new datasets of incidence-based violence that occurred during the Sierra Leone civil war.

Background

Joined the University of Mannheim as a PhD student after completing her first research year at the Humboldt University in Berlin. She holds a Master of Science in Human Rights and Research Methods from the University of Essex (2009) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political and Administrative Science from the University of Konstanz (2008).
