Background
About
Johanne Rokke Elvebakken was the coordinator of the PRIO Centre on Gender, Peace and Security from March 2019 to December 2021. She was also the PRIO point of contact for the NWM-network and coordinates the operational engagement of NWM-Norway. Elvebakken has a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Durham University. She wrote her MA thesis on the main contestations of the Women, Peace and Security agenda within the Norwegian expert community. In January 2022 Elvebakken is starting a PhD in Political Science at the University of Oslo on the EuroWARCHILD-project. The project aims to explore the experiences and needs of three generations of children born of war (CBOW) in Europe. Elvebakken has previously worked as a teacher of migrant and refugee children in Oslo and been a trainee at the Norwegian Embassy in Prishtina.
