This workshop was co-organized by the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) and the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) as a part the IDSA-PRIO cooperation on India in the World: Emerging Perspectives on Global Challenges, and its subproject on Food Security and Globalisation. The workshop invited discussion on India’s food security and globalisation. Food security is a multidimensional phenomenon, and to understand issues of food insecurity one has to take into account not only the phenomenon of hunger or access to food, but also a contextual focus on issues of policy, culture, health and politics.
